Broker guide · Alpaca
Link Alpacato Qotify.
Alpaca is a US broker with a free paper account. You can link one to Qotify with read-only access. Your bots don’t need it: they make simulated trades inside Qotify either way.
Account linking is being set up. If Settings in Qotify does not show “Connect Alpaca paper account” yet, check back soon.
Before you start
An email address
Alpaca opens a paper account with no deposit.
An Alpaca paper account
Only paper accounts can be linked. Live accounts cannot.
A Qotify account
Linking is in Settings, under Alpaca account.
How linking works
- 1Open Settings in QotifyIn the Alpaca account section, choose Connect Alpaca paper account.
- 2Sign in on Alpaca’s pageYou leave Qotify for Alpaca. Create a paper account there if you do not have one. Qotify never sees your Alpaca password.
- 3Approve read-only accessAlpaca shows what Qotify asks for before you agree: reading your paper account details, nothing more.
- 4Back in QotifySettings shows “Paper account connected”. You can disconnect it there at any time.
What Qotify can and cannot do
Can
- Read your paper account details to confirm the link
Cannot
- Place, change or cancel trades
- Withdraw, deposit or move money
- Link or trade a live account
- See your Alpaca password
What about real money?
There is no real-money trading in Qotify. Bots use real market prices and make simulated trades on paper.
